Well Abandonment Wells that are no longer being used due to low or no water yield or simply no longer needed, should be abandoned as per DEP regulations. The certified well driller can properly abandoned wells with the proper DEP approved materials and methods. A correctly sealed borehole will prevent foreign debris from entering the well. Wells that are contaminated, are sometimes abandoned to prevent contamination to other nearby wells through the aquifer. |
