Most wells do not require chemicals for treatment. Water is found in underground aquifers that move through the rock formations. Water is a raw material that can be affected by the natural composition of the geological formations. Occasionally in high mineral areas or in deep wells, dissolved solids can be found in the raw water making the water hard or soft or contain other minerals such as iron, manganese, or sulfur. Raab Well Drilling installs and services high quality DWC conditioners and neutralizers to remove these minerals and improve the water quality. These systems are professionally calibrated to work with K-Life, a non-sodium based water softener.

Well water should be tested annually for bacterial presence in the water. most bacteria that might occur in a well are harmless and naturally occurring in soil and rock formations. The EPA recommends that drinking water be free from coliform bacteria. Coliform bacteria can gain access into a well that is shallow, poorly located, or poorly constructed. A contaminated well can usually be disinfected to remove all bacteria but it is recommended that a water professional check over the system the determine the source of the contamination. Ultraviolet lights are used as a treatment, but solving the problem at the source is recommended.
